“We were not able to find anyone who saw her go into the water the night before,” Manzella said.
The group took the woman back to Newport Beach where she claimed she had been swimming 16 hours early. The Coast Guard says that when they asked the woman how she ended up so far from the beach and without a swimsuit, the woman told them she had been swimming near the Newport Beach Pier when she was swept out to sea.On Wednesday, Harbor Patrol was called for help after two kayakers heard screams from a woman in the water around 10 a.m.
